Waterways Travel Insurance Enrollment Information
WaterWays has included the cost of this insurance plan on your invoice. It can cover you in the event of a sudden emergency before or during your trip. This program is affordably priced and includes the following benefits and assistance services:
Your plan cost is based on the per person cost of your trip.
Optional: $50,000 Car Rental Collision Coverage
Cost: $12.99 per day per car.
Plan covers all children age 17 and under if all accompanying adults purchase coverage OR insurance.
Pre-Existing Medical Condition Exclusion Waiver:
The Insurer will waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion up to a maximum of the first $100,000 of Trip Cost per person if the following conditions are met:
1. This plan is purchased within 15 days of making the Initial Trip Payment;
2. The amount of coverage purchased equals all prepaid nonrefundable payments or deposits applicable to the Trip at the time of purchase, and the cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Trip are insured within 15 days of the date of payment or deposit for any subsequent Trip arrangement(s);
3. All Insured’s are medically able to travel when plan cost is paid.
Schedule of Coverages
Trip Cancellation & Interruption:Reimbursement for forfeited pre-paid, non refundable deposits and additional transportation expenses due to sickness, injury, or death of you, a family member, traveling companion, or business partner if their condition is life-threatening; inclement weather conditions causing delay or cancellation of travel; your home or destination being made uninhabitable by natural disaster, vandalism, or burglary; your being subpoenaed, required to serve on jury duty, hijacked, or quarantined; being involved in or delayed due to an automobile accident en route to departure; or strike, resulting in the complete cessation of travel services at the point of departure or destination; involuntary termination of employment of layoff (must have been with the same employer for 5 years); victim of felonious assault within 10 days prior to departure; being called into active military service or having leave revoked or being reassigned.
Trip Delay: The Insurer will reimburse $150 per day, up to the maximum limit of coverage for reasonable additional expenses until travel becomes possible if your trip is delayed for 5 or more hours. This benefit is payable for only one delay per person, per trip.
Baggage & Personal Effects: Reimbursement for loss, theft, or damage of your luggage and personal possessions even if borrowed or rented.
Baggage Delay: Reimbursement for the purchase of essential items if your baggage is delayed or misdirected for more than 6 hours, up to the maximum limit.
Medical Expense: Covers medical expenses within one year of injury incurred or sickness suffered during your trip provided initial treatment was received during the trip; medical and surgical treatment by a licensed physician; professional nursing, hospital, x-ray, and ambulance services; and prosthetic devices. There are no daily limits on these expenses. Covers emergency dental treatment by a licensed dentist during your trip.
Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains: Covers necessary evacuation as directed by a physician to the nearest adequate medical facility (home, in the event of death).
Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Covers death and loss of limb or eyesight within 365 days of an accident. The Insurer will pay the full benefit for death or loss of any two hands, feet, or eyes; and half the benefit for any one of these.
Optional Car Rental Collision Coverage: Physical damage coverage for damage that is due to collision, vandalism, fire, hail, or flood that the car rental contract hold you responsible for, up to the maximum coverage limit.
PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION EXCLUSION APPLICABLE TO ALL COVERAGES
The Insurer will not pay for any Loss or expense incurred as the result of an Injury, Sickness or other condition of an Insured, Traveling Companion, Business Partner, or Family Member which, within the 180 day period immediately preceding and including the Insured’s coverage effective date: (a) first manifested itself, worsened or became acute or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; (b) for which care or treatment was given or recommended by a Physician; (c) required taking prescription drugs or medicines, unless the condition for which the drugs or medicines are taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription drugs or medicines.

All Assistance Services listed below are not insurance benefits and are not provided by the Insurer.Travel Guard provides assistance through coordination, negotiation, and consultation using an extensive network of worldwide partners. Expenses for goods and services provided by third parties are the responsibility of the traveler.
24-Hour Medical Monitoring: Physicians monitor your condition by maintaining close contact with the attending physicians, your family physician, and immediate family members.
Medical Evacuation: Assistance with arrangements for any and all means necessary to transport you back home when medically necessary.
Emergency Medical Payments: If a hospital demands a cash deposit or settlement prior to leaving, Travel Guard will assist in arranging the advancement of funds to cover on-site medical expenses.
Prescription Assistance: Assitance with the eplacement of lost or stolen medication, through a local pharmacy or special courier.
Transportation of Dependents: In the event of hospitalization, arrangements will be made for unattended minors traveling with the Insured to be flown home.
Family Visit: If you are hospitalized for ten or more days, Travel Guard will assist with arranging transportation for an immediate family member or close friend to visit you.
Transportation of Mortal Remains: In the event of death while traveling, assistance with arrangements for the return of remains to the place of burial.
LiveTravel: 24-hour hotline to make emergency travel changes, such as rebooking flights, hotel reservations, tracking lost luggage, and more!
Live Messaging: Relay of e-mail or phone message to family, friends, or business associates.
Emergency Cash Transfer: Assistance in coordinating an emergency cash advance.
Pre-Trip Travel Advice: Around-the-clock access to passport, visa, inoculation and vaccine requirements; travel advisories; embassy and consulate contacts; travel health advisories; weather and currency information – all for your planned destination.
