Central & Outer Atolls, The Maldives
Horizon II Yacht Charter
Horizon II is a 78-foot, purpose-built surf cruiser that has spent the last few years probing the southern/outer atolls of the Maldives, uncovering the secrets of all those distant reefs – how they work, when they work, when to be there.
Horizon II discovered a thousand wonders in the southern/outer atolls, and now they have been re-tasked to explore the central atolls of the Maldives as well – to boldly go where few surf charters have gone before.
Horizon II will be covering the Central atolls May 8 – Aug 29 and the Outer Atolls Mar 10-May 2 & Aug 30-Oct 21 in speed and comfort, with Waheed at the wheel, but also a chef, two deckhands and a surf guide. Horizon II can accommodate up to 12 guests in six air-conditioned cabins, each with ensuite bathroom and two-berths.
Up above, the salon/bar/dining room offers TV, video, CD player and DVD entertainment, for those who can tear their eyes away from the 360-degree view of the reef, the surf and the islands and atolls of the Maldives – which most visitors find endlessly mesmerizing. A fantasy made real.
Horizon II spends part of the year as a dive boat, so it’s equipped with an inflatable surf dinghy and also a 10-meter dhoni support boat – which will whisk surfers to the reef and watch over them, then take them back to the Horizon II for rest and refueling.
For now and beyond the horizon, the Horizon II will be cruising the central atolls of the Maldives, pushed by the words of Longfellow:
"Wouldst thou," so the helmsman answered,
