The vital waterway that bisects North and South America, the Panama Canal, has long been considered one of the Wonders of the World. But for adventurous surfers, Panama's true wonders aren’t visible from the deck of a super tanker. Just a short flight from Panama City gets you into the Bocas Del Toro region. Bocas Del Toro is a cluster of small islands, just off Panama’s Caribbean coast, which offers some of the richest natural, historical, and cultural diversity in the country. The islands’ are comprised of thick rainforests, winding mangroves, pristine white-sand beaches, and vibrant coral reefs. The best surf months are from December through early April and again in June through July when the cyclones moving north through the Atlantic send pumping swells west the archipelago.
